Bikicki Pinotte Pinot Noir
Bikicki Pinotte Pinot Noir
A natural and organic Pinot Noir from Serbia. The Pinotte has an explosive fragrance that brings an intense scent in which red and black fruits intertwine. It has the smell of raspberries, namely a handful of crushed ripe raspberries, followed by wild berries and ripe red cherries. Potent fruitiness in the mouth is enhanced by extraordinary freshness and a hint of minerals. A wine of exceptional structure, ripe tannins and excellent balance, very long and persistent, with potential for longer aging.
Bikicki’s vineyards are located in the village of Banoštor on the slopes of Mt. Fruška Gora, next to the Danube River. The wine cradle of Serbia, at the 45th degree of north latitude, sharing sun exposure with Bordeaux, Piedmont, the Rhone Valley and the Willamette Valley in Oregon. Once an island in the Pannonian Sea, that gradually dried up 1 million years ago leaving sediment rich soil, now with Vršac Hill the only mountain that rises above the Plain of Vojvodina in Northern Serbia. In Roman times, it was called Alma Mons, which means “fertile mountain”. In the 15th century it was one of the three most famous vineyards in the world, together with Burgundy and Bordeaux.
