Kovacevic Bermet Beli 500ml
Kovacevic Bermet Beli 500ml
Kovačević Beli Bermet is a traditional Serbian aromatised dessert wine, produced by Vinarija Kovačević in the historic Fruška Gora wine region. Bermet is a protected regional specialty of northern Serbia, most famously associated with Sremski Karlovci, and is made by infusing wine with a closely guarded blend of herbs, spices and fruit extracts.
Crafted on a base of Rhine Riesling, Beli (white) Bermet is lighter and more aromatic than its red counterpart, offering elegance rather than weight. According to the winery’s official description, it shows a complex bouquet of herbs, citrus peel, floral notes and gentle spice, balanced by natural sweetness and a refined bitterness that defines authentic Bermet.
On the palate, Kovačević Beli Bermet is layered and expressive, combining sweetness, freshness and herbal depth with a long, aromatic finish. It’s traditionally enjoyed slightly chilled, either as an aperitif or alongside desserts such as apple pie, strudel, nut-based pastries and creamy cakes.
Historically, Bermet from this region was served at European royal courts and even appeared on the wine lists of 19th-century transatlantic liners, making it one of Serbia’s most distinctive and storied wine styles.
Imported to Australia and stored locally, Kovačević Beli Bermet 500ml is an essential bottle for anyone exploring Serbian wine heritage beyond conventional styles.
