Stara Pesma (“Old Song”) is a Serbian rakija house built on family tradition and obsessive attention to detail — from fruit selection through to luxury presentation.

This 18 Year Old Plum Rakija (Šljivovica) is produced in limited quantities from plums harvested on the southern slopes of Western Serbia, then matured for a full 18 years in oak barrels. Retailer notes commonly place the distillery in the Bajina Bašta area, on the foothills of Tara and Povlen, a part of Serbia closely associated with serious fruit brandy.

One detail that helps explain the depth here: the “18” is described as a blend (“kupaža”) drawn from four different oak barrels, adding layers and complexity beyond a single-cask style.

Tasting profile (translated + consolidated from multiple sources)

Expect a deep, old-cognac amber tone with a profile that moves beyond “plum-only” into dried prune, fig, nutty richness, vanilla and cinnamon, with a dry, long finish and a gentle, refined astringency that comes from long oak ageing. Best enjoyed slowly, in small sips, at around 16–18°C as a digestif.

Packaging: Wooden case “Plod”

This release is presented in a premium wooden case (often listed as “lux drvo”).
Your version is in the wooden case called “Plod” — plod translating to “fruit” (in the botanical sense: the fruit of a flower), which ties neatly to the idea that this bottle is the distilled “fruit” of decades of patience.
