Iločki Podrumi Graševina comes from one of the most important wine-growing areas of continental Croatia: Ilok, overlooking the Danube in the historic Srijem wine region.
Graševina is central to Croatian wine culture and is particularly important in the country's continental east. Internationally, the variety is also known as Welschriesling, although in Croatia the name Graševina has developed an identity very much of its own.
This classic expression from Iločki Podrumi is made from 100% Graševina sourced from several vineyard locations around Ilok. The official winery describes it as a dry, green-yellow white wine with fresh aromas dominated by apple, citrus and peach, followed by a slender, elegant body and refreshing finish.
From the Croatian Danube
The wine comes from Hrvatsko Podunavlje – the Croatian Danube region – and the Srijem vineyard area. Iločki Podrumi's classic Graševina is made for freshness and versatility rather than heavy oak influence.
After harvest, the grapes are pressed and settled at controlled temperatures before fermentation in stainless-steel tanks for approximately 8–10 days. The wine subsequently matures in stainless steel, helping retain the fresh fruit and varietal character associated with this style of Graševina.
