Zlatna Biserka is a Serbian plum rakija (šljivovica) crafted in Arilje, a region in western Serbia renowned for its orchard fruits and long tradition of rakija production. The name Zlatna Biserka literally means “Golden Pearl”, reflecting both the spirit’s clarity and its status as a cherished, high-quality fruit brandy.

Made from selected varieties of plums, including indigenous Serbian types prized for distillation, Zlatna Biserka is produced using traditional double-distillation techniques that capture the plums’ natural fruit intensity and aroma. Some expressions are aged, with careful maturation imbuing additional texture, depth and gentle oak influence — aspects highly regarded among rakija connoisseurs. 

Zlatna Biserka’s production is rooted in family-run distilling practices that have been passed down for three generations, combining modern technique with time-honoured craft. This focus on heritage and quality is reflected in the spirit’s balanced structure and refined fruit expression.

Traditionally enjoyed neat at room temperature as an aperitif or digestif, it also pairs beautifully with dark chocolate, dried fruit, grilled meats and cheese boards — capturing the versatility and social spirit of rakija in Balkan culture.
