Žuta Dunja translates to “Yellow Quince”, a name that reflects both the golden hue developed through ageing and the warm, expressive character of this quince brandy. This was the maiden product released by Podrum Pevac and the spirit that established the distillery’s reputation — with all other expressions following its success.

Crafted from aromatic quince grown in the Leskovac region of southern Serbia, this brandy is aged to soften the fruit’s natural intensity and build depth and balance. The result is a refined, layered spirit that showcases quince’s floral perfume and orchard fruit character, enhanced by gentle oak influence.

In the glass, Žuta Dunja shows a warm golden colour, accented by 23-carat edible gold flakes, adding a ceremonial and celebratory touch without altering flavour. Aromas of fresh quince, honeyed fruit and subtle spice lead into a smooth, rounded palate with elegant fruit sweetness, soft warmth and a long, composed finish.

This expression has become Podrum Pevac’s best-selling product, widely recognised for combining traditional quince rakija with a refined, gift-worthy presentation. It’s traditionally enjoyed at room temperature as an aperitif or digestif, and works beautifully on its own or alongside light desserts and cheeses.
