It can very similar to a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo or a Sangiovese - this wine is produced from the estate’s young vineyards, with the majority of the grapes coming from the Stancija Baracija vineyard, from which the wine takes its name. The grapes for Baracija Refošk are handpicked, de-stemmed, and gravity-fed into large wooden barrels for maceration, which typically lasts between 7 to 20 days, starting with natural yeasts at a temperature of 30°C.The wine is fermented on the skins in open vats without the addition of selected yeasts or enzymes, following a natural and organic approach that highlights the authenticity of the Croatian terroir.
