Forget tennis & basketball! Serbia is producing serious talent in the vino game.

Serbia boasts several renowned wine regions, each with its unique terroir and variety of wines. The most famous is the Vojvodina region, located in the northern part of the country, known for its fertile plains and diverse climate, producing excellent white wines, particularly from the Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay varietals.

Just recently, Star Wine List, the award-winning guide to great wine bars and wine restaurants, launched the wine lover’s guide to Belgrade - where a total of 13 wine restaurants and wine bars were selected.  

Another great success is the rise of natural wines in Serbia. An amazing article was written by the Michelin Guide (Read it here) where they showcase the recent focus on sustainability and low intervention within Serbia's wine scene. 


Serbia has become home to the largest, and most impactful gathering of wine and spirit industry professionals in Southeast Europe. Wine Vision by Open Balkan is has positioned itself as the hub for wine experts, masters of wine, market leaders, representatives of global wine buyers and distributors,

The fair is marked by a staggering growth rate, gathering 350 exhibitors in 2022, and more than 600 in 2023, the third edition being held from the 22nd to the 24th of November this year 2024 is expected to smash those numbers and bring it closer to the 1000 mark.
